Carrier Counselling and Placement cell, NSS and NCC unit of GDC R.S.Pura in collaboration with
J&K Police Department organised awareness programme regarding the newly notified Three Criminal
Laws in the college permises. The programme was initiated with the welcome address by Prof. Shelly
Kalsi, Convenor Carrier Counselling and Placement Cell.
The awareness programme was attended by students and faculty members of the college who were made aware regarding the newly three Criminal Laws viz Bharatiya Naya Sanhita, Bharatiya Nagrik Surksha Sanhita, Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam by the resource person DySP Nikhil Gogna, JKPS and SDPO R.S. Pura. The resource person vividly explained the context for the change of laws and gave a comprehensive lecture of the old laws and new laws.
He talked on the apprehensions and myths about these Act and simplified the provisions of these new
Acts. The highlight of the programme was that the participants were involved in interactive discussions
enhancing the practical knowledge of the law. Principal of the college Dr. Rajni Bhagat lauded the efforts
of the committee for organizing such informative awareness programmes. The programme ended with a
formal vote of thanks provided by Dr Rakesh Choudhary, H.O. D Political Science.
The committee members who were present on the occasion were Dr. Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Dr. Raj
Kumari, Prof Sanjeev Uphadaya, Prof Meeshu Pandita, Dr Sunil Kumar and Dr Vijeta Anand.
